Mercedes A Service

You don’t want your Mercedes to break down because of a simple issue that could have been easily fixed, do you?

Servicing your Mercedes is so important, and you can get in trouble if you ignore it.

Routine servicing makes sure your Mercedes runs smoothly and safely, and minimises the risk of breakdowns. Plus, small faults can be found and addressed quickly before they become serious and expensive issues.

To ensure your Mercedes runs smoothly, the manufacturer has created two main service types:

  • Mercedes A Service
  • Mercedes B Service

No matter which service is due, you are advised to keep to a routine service schedule. Both Mercedes A and B services are needed to keep your warranty intact and ensure road safety and reliability.

When our client visited P. Breading Motor Services, they were not sure which service they needed on their Mercedes A-Class.

Thanks to our Mercedes specialists, we know all about A-Class models and know which type of service is required with decades of experience. We also have the same dealer-level access to service records and maintenance guides – therefore we can handle any issue with Mercedes vehicles.

Serving the local area, Mercedes owners rely on us for advice on which service their vehicle needs, and how to carry it out.

P. Breading Motor Services always promises a better-than-dealer experience and value.

Difference Between Mercedes A and B service

We get asked this question a lot. “What is the difference between Mercedes A and Mercedes B service?”. Here they are:

When your car turns one year old, it typically needs the Mercedes A Service. After that, you do it every two years (depending on how much you’ve driven).

Mercedes A Service covers:

  • Changing the oil filter
  • Putting in new synthetic motor oil
  • Checking the brake parts
  • Making sure the tyres have the right amount of air and fixing it if needed
  • Resetting the maintenance counter.

The Mercedes B Service is more thorough and is good for older Mercedes cars or if you’ve driven a lot.

Your Mercedes B Service is usually due one year after your Mercedes A Service. Each type of service alternates every year.

Mercedes B Service includes:

  • New synthetic motor oil
  • Changing the cabin dust/combination filter
  • Resetting the maintenance counter
  • Changing the oil filter
  • Checking the brake parts

Our client was not sure which service was required on their Mercedes; therefore they reached out to our expert team who helped immediately.

We have dealership-level access to Mercedes records and could identify quickly which service was required.

The Events That Followed

Whilst checking the Mercedes digital service database, we found that our client’s A-Class required a Mercedes A service.

During our Mercedes A service, we noticed that the wheels were not properly aligned.

This can happen to any vehicle, especially when mileage and age increase. Wheels can become misaligned when driving over potholes, hitting kerbs, and colliding with objects on a perfectly normal road.

Often owners fail to recognise this, and over time it could result in uneven tyre wear, affecting your handling and therefore safety.

We all want to be safe on the road, don’t we?

If this issue is not addressed, it can get worse, leading to an increased risk of crashing or expensive repairs.

In our client’s A-Class, safety was not compromised, and they were fortunate as the misalignment had only occurred recently. Only the front left tyre had worn down more than the others, therefore we advised that it should be replaced.

Solving the Wheel Alignment Issue

To ensure that our client’s vehicle was safe, we performed an accurate wheel alignment on their A-Class and replaced the worn-out tyre.

We made sure to consult our client before going ahead with any work. Explaining our diagnosis and recommendations over the phone.

At P. Breading Motor Services, you are always informed about the status and outcome of our repairs, and we make sure you’re in complete control, seeking approval before work is carried out.

As our client was happy with our solution, they gave us the go-ahead and we began working.

We changed the worn tyre, performed a wheel alignment, and ensured the suspension components were tight to prevent the problem from occurring once more.

We also performed a safety check throughout our client’s A-Class to ensure that systems were functioning as they should. We’re always exceeding main dealer services to provide the best-in-class service for our customers.

Our client’s A-Class had passed the safety tests with no further issues and after we performed the Mercedes A service, we handed back the keys.

Taking a matter of hours, our client was able to collect their vehicle the same day – not something that is common with Mercedes dealerships. At P. Breading Motor Services we promise better-than-dealer servicing and value.
